Project: a physical audio visual tour connecting Berlin with Tel- Aviv
This virtual journey connects the two cities in times of social distancing, introducing and flipping between sounds, stories, and events from both cities, as they unfold along a similar route. Mirrored cities enables the wondered to be physically present at one space and time using all senses, while playing with imagination and mental force projected into a remote present. It is an audio virtual-physical journey. The walks are similar by length, atmosphere and features to let you be in one place while feeling the other. You are guided by a poetic text, by sounds prerecorded in both cities and questions that lead your awareness into a new 3rd imaginary hybrid of both cities. We recommend to wander in the city at your own pace, pausing whenever you want. You can either watch the video while walking or just listen to the soundtrack.
“One of the basic situationist practices is the dérive [literally: “drifting”], a technique of rapid passage through varied ambiances. Dérives involve playful-constructive behavior and awareness of psychogeographical effects, and are thus quite different from the classic notions of journey or stroll.” Theory of the Dérive, Guy Debord
